ABOUT ME
I am a neurodivergent speech-language pathologist specializing in ADHD, executive function, and cognition. My personal and clinical journeys fuel my passion for empowering individuals to find their voice, ensuring a person-centered approach that honors each family's unique cultural background.
For years, ADHD has been discussed primarily through behavior, psychology, and medication frameworks. While these perspectives matter, one crucial lens is often missing:
Language.
Language mediates self-regulation.
Language organizes working memory.
Language structures planning.
Language shapes identity.
As clinicians, educators, and adults navigating ADHD ourselves, we must understand how internal dialogue and verbal scaffolding shape cognitive control.
My work bridges:
Speech-language pathology
Executive function science
Neurodivergent-affirming care
High-level cognitive strategy
This is not surface-level coaching.
This is cognitive architecture.
Neurodivergent-inclusive practices, educator training and educational development for a variety of ADHD topics.
Bio
Letizia Hendrickson, MS, CCC-SLP, ADHD-RSP is an award winning neurodivergent speech-language pathologist, executive function specialist, and international speaker known as “The ADHD SLP.” Her work focuses on the connection of language, cognition, and executive function, guided by the principle that language is cognition made visible.
With nearly two decades of clinical experience across schools, medical settings, and private practice, Letizia works with children and adults with ADHD and related neurodevelopmental differences. She currently serves as Clinical Coordinator and Supervisor at The Learning Grove, where she works with pediatric and adult populations while mentoring graduate clinicians, SLP assistants, and clinical fellows. She is also adjunct faculty in the Communication Disorders and Sciences master’s program at West Coast University.
Letizia is passionate about helping clinicians, educators, and high-performing neurodivergent individuals understand how language shapes self-regulation, planning, and cognitive organization. Her global upbringing has shaped a clinical philosophy centered on cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and deep empathy for non-native speakers and non-speaking individuals. Through keynote presentations, professional education, and executive function strategy coaching, she reframes ADHD through a language-based lens that integrates neuroscience, clinical practice, and neurodivergent-affirming care.
In addition to her clinical and educational work, Letizia is the President-Elect of the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CSHA) and serves on the National Education Committee of CHADD (Children and Adults with ADHD), where she advocates for neurodivergent-inclusive practices, educator training and educational development for a variety of ADHD topics.
